So people want to know what we’re up to but I feel like it’s on you to explain… tell us?

In a nutshell, realizing our dreams and making dope things happen. On the real though, we’re building a young and exciting entertainment brand thats gonna make some really big moves and ultimately change the game.

Why Cutthroat… sounds so aggressive?

The name is meant for people who are sparked by it, people who want to wake up each and every morning and want to be Cutthroat in whatever they have planned. It’s about being relentless and its about being undeniable in your craft, whatever it may be. It’s not supposed to scare you, its supposed to amp you up and motivate you just by saying it. Thats what we are about, and thats what matters. If the name offends you or makes you anxious, that doesn’t matter, period.

What’s your take on the state of South African entertainment?

I know a lot of people have a lot to say about the state of the industry right now and there’s all the fuss about a hashtag, but for me personally I think its a great time to get stuck in, the public are hungry for new cats and voices. Theres a huge gap in the creative space of the game right now and that void needs to be filled. So leave twitter alone and stop using that hashtag “#OpenUpWhatWhat” that nobody really cares about, get off your ass and make moves, be undeniable, be cutthroat.

Fashion is something implored in your character… how you feeling about that GQ Best Dressed list?

If we all wait for GQ to tell us that 10 dudes who all look and dress the same, like they all have the typical 9-5 corporate job, are the “Best Dressed” in our country? and we believe it? Then the joke is on us. I honestly can’t recognize a list like where the motif is basically the same. I mean sure, yeah these dudes dress really well, but this list represents a certain demographic that isn’t even in sync with the industry as a whole.

Do you think young dudes are doing enough to get in the game and create lanes?

I think a lot of us youngins have the juice and are hungry, that much is true, but a lot of us are waiting for that big opportunity and not creating it ourselves. This is exactly the problem, the game isn’t gonna change and the rules have been set, so we gotta find ways to bend the rules a bit in our favour to make dope things happen. Nobody is going to give you anything that you’re not willing to fight for and take for yourself.
